Flash back post about my Ninja and how I ended with him in 9/2010

Hello!

wanted to introduce you to Ninja! :D alittle stray baby kitty that me and zach rescued since it was all on its own and was meowing for nonstop for 4 days straight outside of our house looking for its mommy but she never came so he was starving and all along scared! T__T

so we had to rescue him since it gonna be winter here soon and couldnt let this little guy be out like that so I we sat out every night trying to earn its trust and have him get near us alittle by alittle and i was like meowing like crazy trying to get this guy to come to us and it worked because it would meow back and get closer and closer to me lol but with persistence and after total of 53 mosquito bites we finally got him and Zach named him Ninja samurai lol X3

I said why that name and he said ninja cause he is super fast like a ninja and samurai cause he was out there all alone in the woods surviving on its own with warrior spirit and he is fierce! I thought it was cute since I'm so bad at coming up with names so haha :P

Just a really short photo diary post from this past weekend~

1.21.12 was Zach & eki's 4 years Anniversary!♥

He planned a nice day for our annivers but unfortunately he come down with a flu so did get to anything but to go out to eat... but it was relaxing and nice weekend! :)

we been talking about going to eat this one place called Piccolo mainly because they have unique menus and use ingredients that are from local famers and organic products.

here is what they say:

More than any other restaurant in Minnesota, Piccolo's cuisine is focused on quality over quantity, putting what is seasonal and creative ahead of what is safe and familiar. We believe in changing our menu frequently, buying locally and seasonally whenever possible, and putting a significant amount of time and devotion into each beautifully presented plate. Call it small plates, "fractional dining", or simply a tasting menu à la carte. The menu is designed to allow guests a chance to create a different dining experience with each visit, pairing risk with reward. You could say that choice is the defining characteristic of Piccolo, allowing people to dine according to their desires and appetite.

I was very pleased with their food, they were really tasty, looked pleasant overall I was happy but the portions are tiny very french-esque style hehe :)

I Love watching Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern was surprise to see their season 7 premier featured here where I live the Twin city! I guess not that surprised since he lives here also lol but was really surprised to see the restaurant Piccolo we went for our 4 year Anniversary featured in this episode! Apparently its one of Andrew's favorite place to eat~ I wish I could find a link to the full episode so that you can see it too but I could only find a CM for this episode~

the look of the night~ wanted simple MU look with a little bit of BAM! with some false lashes~ lol

after dinner tried to make some chocolate covered strawberries for the first time!

but didn't turn out too well I heated the chocolate too long and didn't temper the chocolates well so it turned out sorta grainy... D; next time I will perfect it lol

Zach gave me this 13" macbook air for Anniversary! Actually gave it to me on new years as early present~ :D

made chicken noodle soup for sick Zach used the recipe from Food network made a slight modification, used wonton skin instead of egg noodle lol it was really yummy!

I noticed that there are tons of kawaii and affordable items on ebay that I cannot get my hands on where I live. Makes me happy that I can go on ebay and find just about anything on there at fraction of the price that I would end up paying at other stores. I buy from seller with most positive feedback and read some of the customers feedback before making the purchase so please make sure to look at each sellers feedback before purchasing from them, deal with seller with most positive feedback so that you know you are buying a good quality items, especially items from China! The only down side to ebay is that there are tons of copyright violation items on there that are not official items so got to watch out for that but I couldn't help but to buy this iPhone cases since Apple does not make such case so I had to get it cause it was PINK! lol

What I think:

Ok one of my favorite color is Mint Green or light Aqua shade so I could not resist getting this case! I really love rubberized cases because you can't see the scratches but one thing about this case that drive me nut is that it leaves a finger prints/mark from the natural oils of your hands so you have to wipe it down now and then or all you see are hand prints but other that it is good quality case :)

The eyebrow powder comes in 3 different shades this one is #2 CHOCO BROWN the mid shade. Each palette comes with 2 shades one to define the brow and the other to blend with a single end brush.

At first glance:

I thought the packaging and the palette was cheap looking I was sorta disappointed about that but the powder seems to be very pigmented and easy to blend. :)

The eyebrow mascara comes in 3 different shades this one is the mid shade in #2 MOCHA. It claims to be sweat and water proof but comes easy off with some warm water~ Also contains nutriment properties such as Panthenol, Ginseng root extract.

At first glance:

I thought the packaging was cute like the original Dolly Wink packagings, its a nice portion size very pleased at how it applied when I first tried it, looks quite bright but once on my black eyebrows it balanced out the shade to medium brown :)

The false eyelash glue now comes in black along with original clear! Dolly Wink claims their glue are strong against sweat and water with strong staying on power also the eyelash fix has been improved with 50% more adhesive power compared to the original!

At first glance:

I was really happy that they came up with a black glue type so when I tried it for the first time I was surprised at how black it is almost like a liquid eyeliner but made with latex material and seems to dry semi matte so far I am happy with this~

iPhone Diary: Chicago trip 2011

Hello!

Going backwards on the post again ^^;;

In this post I wanted to share my mini trip to Chicago that we went a little bit before Xmas for our much needed r&r~

All photos are taken in iPhone 4s

*sorry I have been truly lazy with using the DSLR... D;

We mainly wanted to go for all the good FOOD i.e. Japanese/asian food lol was there for 3 days total and stay over downtown over on Streeterville at Doubletree by Hilton which was a pleasant stay at a good value :) Didn't do much of the sightseeing as we were just there to mostly relax/eat but here are some of the pics I manage to take~

view from our room~ you can see former Sears tower all the way in the back in the center :)

Our hotel gave us warm walnuts chocolate chip cookies whenever they greeted us! It was really good and a nice treat~

sweet~ very comfortable bed

pleasant surprise to see their toiletry was Crabtree & Evelyn! paraben free!

first place we ate was at Sushi station a kaiten sushi place*conveyor belt sushi

basically the sushi are on a convayor belt all you have to do is grab a sushi or you can also order from your server~
each colored plates represents price range of the sushi

here is what I ate: saba nigiri, negi toro nigiri

Ume cucumber roll, tempura imitation crab nigiri~ sooo GOOD!

had a tiramisu as my dessert :)

was very pleased with this kaiten sushi place~ there are two location located in Chicago area!

sightseeing~ with a camera man aka zach in the corner lol

visited Chicago's #1 tourist destination: Chicago Navy Pier

I had to eat at Gyu-Kaku cause I love this place and also Zach has never been so it was a nice treat~

drools.... wish they had this here where I live too T__T

we also tried Peach chu-hi its is a shochu mixed drink~ quite good and its PINK!

tried to stay warm cause Chicago was for real THE Windy City!!

I manage to find super authentic Japanese eats called Kurumaya~ they had some menu written only in Japanese 0__o thats super authentic lol

haha had onigiri... I know I can make it at home but something about eating onigiri at places tastes better~

I had to get shishamo *smelt fish* cause I haven't had it in ages! you eat the whole fish~ :D~ I know it kinda looks gross but so good and so healthy! lol

lastly had a asari sakemushi~ *Clams steam broiled with sake garlic :D

well that was it for this post! If you like to visit a nice huge city with all the ethnic eats and lots of places to sightsee you will enjoy this city~ :) plus they shot Batman and Transformer movies in this city! lol

Happy Happy 2012!!

Hope you all made a new years resolution for this new year! 2011 was a hard year for me a lot of ups and downs, mostly downs that caused me to have depressing moments, stressful times but I did not forget to keep my perspective positive. Remember to look around and take in a deep breath if you are overwhelmed, try to smile and stay positive then happiness will surely follow. :)

My new years resolution this year are:

1.Take care of my soul and body with good positive energy and good healthy food to nurture my body

2. Be more active with internet actives, I want to built a better friendship with those who has been there for me and those who shared much kind and support.

3. lastly, this year I completely forgot to enjoy my life this past year that I feel like it just passed me by so this new year I want to enjoy and take in what is around me and those I have been blessed to have in my life.

4. do more art! draw more!!

Weekly iPhone photo diary~

Hello~ みんな元気ですか？

Christmas is already around the corner and the year 2011 is almost over, gosh the time passes by fast! as you might noticed I have been getting lazy in taking a real photos with my DSLR,,, its sitting in the corner dusting away.. :sigh: =__=;;

but yes the iPhone comes in handy most of the time and I do get lazy in grabbing the dslr but one of my new years resolutions will be "get back into photography!" so please be patient with me, I blame the cold temperature makes me not wanna do anything... lol ^^;;

OH I will be going on a much needed mini vacation this weekend starting tomorrow to Chicago!! really excited found a kaiten zushi *conveyor belt sushi* place!! If you have any suggestions on cool places to visit in Chicago please let me know!

My first ever real Fraser fir christmas tree~

zach insisted he wanted a real tree so we got it but I always feel bad for the tree.. cut off just to be decorated for christmas ;__:

we decided to finally get the Vitamix after many debate on why he needed it... me: " why does a stupid blender cost so much,, its just a blender!!.. o_0" his excuse: " you came make just about anything, it has 7 year warrenty and also we can be more healthy with having this" guys logic lol

decided to make my favorite dish: Oden! Its a winter dish Japanese people love to eat during cold seasons~ :D~

Mint nail polish comparison~

Just a small comparison

Been pretty lazy with applying nail polish lately but if I do I have been addicted to wearing minty shades~ haven't had much time to buy other mint shade nail polish but once I get more will make sure to do a comparison :)

I lined it up with light to dark shades, the HK polish is the lightest out of the three with more on a pastel blue-ish shade, the SH I would say is the true mint shade out of the 3 and Orly polish are more on the aqua shade out of the 3 shades~

consistency:

HK is the runniest out of the 3, thin consistency requires 3 coats to achieve full opacity.

Nice consistency not to runny not to thick easy to apply, need only 2 coats to achieve opacity

Semi thick consistency, a little bit on the gooey side but only need 2 coats to achieve opacity

with 3 coats

with 2 coats

Overall:

I LOVE SH mint sorbet the most long lasting and fast drying polish out of 3 with the right shade of mint and the price doesn't hurt either! ^__^

I really like the hadanomy series so wanted to give this one a try! I wanted to let you know that Tsubasa's new Dolly Wink collection has been released in Japan!

Here is a peek at the whole new collection, I tried to translate it as best as possible lol :P

Little quote from Tsu-chan and why she decided to create the new Dolly Wink collection.

"Wanted to graduate from artificial or fake looking makeup style but I cannot let go of the "kawaii" cute style!

Im not too fond of the new packaging design but I can see that she tried to make it more toned down for that "OTONA" feel to them which otona basically translate to adult or grown ups.. ^^;; I am looking forward in trying out their new eyebrow stuff and the black lash fix looks nice too~

I am truly sorry for the lack of posts, I also has been quite on twitter lately its just that I haven't had much time to go on the internet/social network this past few weeks.
